Almaty Museum of Arts Patrons Circle
The Patrons Circle at Almaty Museum of Arts (ALMA) brings together collectors, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and leaders with a passion for art who share the museum’s values, are willing to provide financial and expert support, and wish to contribute to shaping the cultural landscape of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
Membership in the Patrons Circle offers an opportunity to directly participate in the development of an independent museum and make a meaningful contribution to national and global heritage.

At major museums around the world, individual support plays an essential role in ensuring artistic independence, sustainable development, and the ability to launch large-scale research projects. ALMA is establishing this practice as a new institutional standard for the cultural sector of the region.
A patron’s contribution to ALMA is not a one-time donation, but a long-term partnership based on mutual commitments, privileges, and the integration of the patron’s name into the history of the museum. The community of patrons is envisioned by the museum as the foundation for the future Board of Trustees — an expert body that shares strategic responsibility and participates in shaping the institution’s cultural agenda.
Contributions from programme members are directed towards the implementation of the museum’s key academic and public programmes:
Areas of Support
Heritage Preservation (Conservation Programme):
Saving and professionally restoring works of art that, without specialist intervention, could otherwise be permanently lost.
Publishing Programme:
Producing scholarly catalogues and research publications that systematically document the art of Central Asia and place it within the international museum context.
Public Programme:
Organising lectures, discussions, film and theatre screenings, as well as musical evenings that make academic knowledge accessible to a broad audience.

Architectural Recognition: Patron Wall
For members of the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond levels, the patron’s name is displayed on the Patron Wall at the main entrance to the museum building. Names and logos are placed on corten steel panels of the façade and produced from durable anodised aluminium, becoming part of ALMA’s architectural identity.
