Almaty Museum of Arts
1. General Provisions
1.1. The Almaty Museum of Arts (hereinafter referred to as the Museum) is a cultural institution whose activities are aimed at preserving, studying and popularizing contemporary art of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the international context.
1.2. The Museum carries out activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including acts in the field of culture, museum affairs, protection of cultural heritage, protection of consumer rights, personal data and ensuring public safety.
1.3. These Rules are aimed at ensuring the safety of museum objects and collections, as well as creating a comfortable and safe environment for visitors. All persons on the territory of the Museum are obliged to comply with these Rules.
1.4. The territory of the Museum is the buildings and spaces located at the address indicated on the www.almaty.art in the "Visit and Tickets" section, including exhibition halls, lobbies, corridors, staircases, a café area, a shop, courtyards, and other areas open to visitors.
1.5. The Museum is responsible for the safety of exhibits, buildings, and infrastructure in accordance with internal regulations and safety requirements.
1.6. In order to ensure public safety and the safety of property, video surveillance may be carried out throughout the Museum.
1.7. Photography and video filming on the territory of the Museum is allowed for personal (non-commercial) purposes, subject to these Rules and the restrictions established in individual halls. Any commercial use of images of exhibitions, interiors, events or visitors is possible only on the basis of written consent from the Museum.
1.8. Media representatives must be accredited through the Museum's press service before filming.
1.9. Visitors who violate these Rules may be removed from the territory of the Museum and prosecuted in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In case of refusal of entry or removal from the territory of the Museum due to violation of these Rules, the ticket price is non-refundable.
2. Opening hours of the Museum
2.1. The Museum is open to the public in accordance with the schedule published on the official website of the www.almaty.art.
2.2. The working hours are established by the Museum administration and may be changed due to events, technical work, or other reasons.
2.3. Information about the current working hours is posted on the www.almaty.art website and at the information desks.
2.4. The opening of the Museum means the opening of ticket offices, control points, and services. The closure of the Museum means the completion of the work of the exhibition halls and the termination of the admission of visitors.
2.5. Entrance to the building and ticket sales stop 30 minutes before closing.
2.6. The working hours of service areas (cafes, shops, tour desks, etc.) may differ from those of the exhibition halls.
3. Entrance to the Museum and Tickets
3.1. Admission is carried out on the basis of a ticket, season ticket or other document confirming the right to visit.
3.2. By purchasing a ticket (including online), the Visitor confirms that he/she has read and agrees to these Rules and the User Agreement.
3.3. Tickets are purchased at the box office or online on the www.almaty.art website.
3.4. The terms of sale, return and exchange of tickets are determined by the User Agreement.
3.5. The ticket is valid if there is a receipt (paper or electronic), and for preferential passengers — a document confirming the right to a benefit; for registered cards — identity cards.
3.6. Priority admission and benefits are granted to categories of citizens in accordance with the list approved by the Museum administration and published on the website and in the checkout area.
3.7. All visitors are controlled at the entrance. Security officers have the right to inspect things. Visitors with medical devices notify the employee and undergo alternative control. Refusal of inspection is grounds for refusal of entry.
4. Visitor service
4.1. Individual visits are carried out independently or using an audio guide.
4.2. Guided tours are conducted by the Museum's staff or accredited third-party guides if there is a guided tour voucher.
4.3. The delay of organized groups for more than 30 minutes is equal to a no-show, no refund is made.
4.4. Lectures, concerts and cultural events are held on separate tickets, information is published on the website.
4.5. Children under 12 years old can visit the exhibition only if accompanied by an adult.
5. Obligations of visitors
5.1. Comply with these Rules, public order regulations, and the lawful requirements of the Museum's employees.
5.2. Present a ticket and documents confirming the benefit or identity.
5.3. Hand over to the cloakroom items larger than 35×25×15 cm. Luggage storage allows items up to 30×40×55 cm.
5.4. Switch mobile devices to silent mode in the halls.
5.5. Compensate for damage caused to the property or exhibits of the Museum.
5.6. Follow the instructions of employees during evacuation and in emergency situations.
6. Rights of visitors
6.1. To visit the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions.
6.2. Use an audio guide or your own devices to listen to excursions (with headphones).
6.3. Make amateur photo and video shooting for personal purposes (without flash and tripods).
6.4. Leave feedback and suggestions on the Museum's website.
6.5. Appeal against the actions of employees by submitting a written request to the Director of the Museum.
7. Prohibitions
7.1. Violate public order and the law.
7.2. Shoot with a flash, using tripods, stabilizers and other equipment without permission.
7.3. To conduct photo shoots and commercial shooting without approval.
7.4. Bring weapons, pyrotechnics, explosive and toxic substances, alcohol, objects larger than 30×40×55 cm.
7.5. Consume food and drinks in the halls (except for café areas), with the exception of water in transparent plastic bottles with a capacity of up to 1 liter.
7.6. To touch the exhibits, go behind the fences and into the service rooms.
7.7. To be in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication.
7.8. Come with animals (except guide dogs).
8. Responsibilities of the Museum
8.1. Provide cash services and provide information about working hours and services.
8.2. Ensure the operation of the cloakroom and storage rooms.
8.3. Ensure the accessibility of the territory and premises for visitors with limited mobility.
8.4. Ensure polite and correct behavior of employees.
8.5. Consider visitors' requests within the time limits established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
9. Rights of the Museum
9.1. To make changes to the schedule of work and the program of events.
9.2. Restrict access to the halls for reasons of preservation of exhibits, work or exceeding the permissible occupancy.
9.3. Refuse entry to visitors without a ticket or those who violate the Rules.
9.4. To stop uncoordinated excursions and events on the territory of the Museum.
9.5. Temporarily close the territories during official events or on other grounds provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
