Museum Visual Club

The Almaty Museum of Arts is pleased to announce the launch of its latest initiative: the Museum Visual Club.

The primary objective of the club is to foster a dedicated professional community, bringing together photographers, videographers, and visual technology specialists who are interested in engaging with art and the museum environment.

To mark the club's inauguration, the Almaty Museum of Arts, in partnership with SIGMA Kazakhstan, will present ART IN FOCUS - a dynamic series of events dedicated to supporting the arts and contemporary photographic culture.

A highlight of the launch programme will be an international visit from the second-generation owner of SIGMA, Mr Kazuto Yamaki, who will travel to Almaty to host an exclusive, closed-door session on 21 July.

Event Programme

09:00 – 11:30 - SIGMA Gear Test Drive & Guided Museum Tour

12:00 – 13:30 - Lecture & Portfolio Review

13:30 – 14:30 - Interactive Quiz, Premium Prizes, and Official SIGMA Merchandise

A chance to secure an invitation to the closed-door session with Mr Kazuto Yamaki.

Throughout these events, the museum space will be transformed into a creative canvas. Participants will have full access to test Sigma BF cameras and an array of Sigma lenses to produce original photographic work on-site.

How to participate in the closed-door session on 21 July?

Invitations will be awarded to selected participants after each Test Drive & Lecture session (25 June and 9 July) across two categories:

Digital Engagement (10 invitations available)

• Follow both @almatyartmuseumofarts and @sigmaphoto_kazakhstan on Instagram.

• Share the official event announcement post to your Stories.

• Tag your creative friend who would benefit from attending the event in the comments section.

On-Site Participation (10 invitations available)

• Take out Sigma optics for a trial during the event and submit your most visually compelling shot to our team.

• Participate in the live interactive quiz.

• Attend the afternoon lecture, where participants will be announced.

Participation is free of charge but limited.

Priority booking will be extended to:

• Individuals seeking hands-on experience with the Sigma BF system and exploring diverse focal lengths;

• Aspiring Sigma lens owners;

• Existing Sigma equipment owners and registered SIGMA Club members.
