Introduction to Alicja Kwade: The Boundaries of Reality (in Kazakh)

Almaty Museum of Arts continues its lecture series dedicated to artists represented in the museum’s collection.

We invite you to a lecture dedicated to the practice of Alicja Kwade, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary European art.

Kwade’s work investigates the very nature of reality, time, and space, seamlessly bridging artistic expression with scientific and philosophical inquiry. Utilizing materials such as stone, metal, and mirrors, she constructs large-scale installations that disrupt our habitual modes of perception and challenge the systems we use to navigate the physical world.

This lecture examines how contemporary art can serve as a powerful vehicle for cognition, inquiry, and critical reflection. It will be presented by the head of the excursion department of the Almaty Museum of Arts, art historian Akzharkyn Qumarbaeva.
