A conversation with Aliya de Tiesenhausen, curator of the Musinder exhibition

As part of the public programme accompanying the exhibition Müsinder: Sculpture in Kazakhstan from the 1950s to the Present Day, exhibition curator Aliya de Tiesenhausen will be in conversation with Meruert Kaliyeva, Artistic Director of Almaty Museum of Arts.

Aliya de Tiesenhausen will discuss the exhibition’s concept, its thematic sections and key works, as well as the evolution of sculptural language in Kazakhstan over the past seventy years.

Aliya de Tiesenhausen is a Doctor of Art History, independent curator, and author of Central Asia in Art: From Soviet Orientalism to the New Republics.

The event will take place in Russian. Free admission with a museum entrance ticket.
