As part of the public programme accompanying the exhibition Müsinder: Sculpture in Kazakhstan from the 1950s to the Present Day, exhibition curator Aliya de Tiesenhausen will be in conversation with Meruert Kaliyeva, Artistic Director of Almaty Museum of Arts.

Sälem, Almaty! Sälem, September!

This month, we’re exploring our beloved city through the pages of “Sälem, Almaty!” We’ll discover its streets and parks, uncover the secrets of historic buildings, and get to know some of the city’s most famous figures. And most importantly, we’ll see Almaty anew, just as little explorers do!

To celebrate the opening of the “Müsinder” exhibition, create your own paper sculptures by experimenting with shape, color, and composition.

We’ll bring the snacks, you bring your craft project. Allow the mind to wander and hands to take over. Handcraft and chill with us!

We are announcing an open call for our first experimental photography course – JAS Photo!
Over the course of 10 sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of photography: discover how a camera works, learn how to look at and analyze art, and immerse yourself in your own creative process. The course will culminate in an exhibition of the participants’ works. The course is led by photographer Nurtas Sissekenov.
