Harmonies of Moments

The concert features international competition laureates:

Diana Mahmud (viola) — PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of String Instruments at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, and Master of Arts graduate of the Royal Academy of Music (London, UK).

Assene Ovchinnikova (violin) — Lecturer in the Department of String Instruments at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

Almagul Konysbayeva (piano) — Senior Lecturer of Mandatory Piano at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory.

The concert program brings together works by composers from diverse eras and traditions, highlighting the expressive range of the violin and viola ensemble. From the refined classical harmony of Mozart and the soulful lyricism of Reinhold Glière to the virtuoso drama of the Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia and the evocative music of Dmitri Shostakovich, each piece offers its own unique artistic landscape.

The concert will conclude with Dauletkerey’s Korogly, reimagining traditional Kazakh music through a dynamic dialogue between two string instruments and piano.

Harmonies of Moments is a musical journey where contrasting styles, moods, and tone colors converge. The rich timbres of the violin and viola create an intimate space defined by subtle emotional nuance and vivid artistic contrast.
